Fairytale continued

Naturally, we already know that the existence of multiple such planes is true. The fantastic part of the story is the idea that we leave something behind when we exit, or more accurately that something leaves us behind: the ideas we generate.

Ideas, after all, are electric impulses generated by brain cells. Though no understanding of an idea is the exact same among any two beings, the tale posits that the patterns are similar enough that there can be said to be a psychic link shared between their iteration in each mind.

And so the tale supposes: what if, in the higher realms of the imagination that minds pass through, these ideas began to develop and take on life of their own? What if, rather than the organic cellular or mechanical or otherwise physics-based structures required by lifeforms in our multiverse, these ideas began to grow and evolve using a conceptual structure? What if, by virtue of living and perceiving the world, we essentially created a collective consciousness on these abstract conceptual planes…and as ideas recur independently throughout the multiverse, who’s to say that we truly invented them – perhaps they invented us?

It’s that last question that is the most pressing in terms of the story, which essentially takes the form of a prophecy: that the ideas that govern our lives are alive and hungry and demand tribute, and the time will arrive when they come to collect on their investment in sustaining us. They will come one by one, the tale claims, taking the forms of heavenly visitations to presage the arrival of their own highest power.

It’s rare to find a direct representation of the legend in the cultures we are aware of, doubtless in part because of the frustratingly incomplete nature of the tale in any of its iterations.

This renders it less a coherent philosophical claim and more a half-intelligible piece of graffiti on the columns of universal civilization. And yet there are aspects of it that share kinship with countless other belief systems and philosophical methodologies from any civilization you could name. There are also pieces of art based on fragments of the legends, such as the Earth short film “Clear as Crystal” from their relative temporal year 2020. Rare, though, is the piece that engages with the mythology of the tale directly; ironically, this may be as much an indication of its ubiquity as its obscurity.

For our purposes, of course, the tale is silly. Cosmic conceptual forces are of no concern to us; we’ve already made ourselves a cosmic force, and a very profitable one, too. Fairytales are the last thing that would stop our inevitable march toward Dream Project.

Of course, if you’re not a member of THEM you’re not supposed to be reading this. In fact, you’re not supposed to know we exist at all. After all, we wouldn’t be much of a secret guiding force behind the development of every sentient species in this and the surrounding galaxies if people knew who we were, would we? Especially if you knew the existence and purpose of Dream Project, and thus our ultimate goals. (Rest assured; they’re for your own good.)

Hold tight. We’re dispatching agents to…have a meet-and-greet with you. Sit back and relax; we’ll take care of everything…
